OmniYouth Programs UX/UI Design

I had the opportunity to participate in the Netflix UX/UI Bootcamp project, which involved redesigning the resource page for OmniYouth Programs, a Sacramento-based nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing youth marijuana, alcohol, and drug use through education and community engagement. The primary objective of the project was to improve the resource page for parents who wanted to be engaged in their children's lives and educate them on drug usage.

The existing resource page on the OmniYouth Programs' website had numerous hyperlinks to cluttered infographics that were harsh to the eye, had an inconsistent color system, and clashed with each other. To solve this issue, my team and I conducted interviews and created an affinity diagram to identify user preferences and requirements. As part of the process, I contributed to creating a scenario and storyboard that depicted a typical OmniYouth user looking for drug-related information to talk to their child. To facilitate this, I developed a user flow that demonstrated how the user could navigate the resource page and interact with the provided information. I created a paper sketch of the desktop, which was later transformed into a successful final prototype. We conducted user testing at the end of the project and received mostly positive feedback, with room for improvement in simplifying and categorizing the nonprofit's resources for ease of access by users.
